chin implant

Just as breast augmentation changes the body image, a chin implant may change the overall look of your face. A chin implant can significantly alter your facial features by strengthening the chin or adding contour to bring it into balance with the rest of your face. Chin implants are often performed in conjunction with other facial surgical procedures, such as a facelift and browlift.

What to Expect
After a consultation and examination, Dr. Ratliff will select a proper size and shape chin implant for use in surgery. The implant is either placed in its position by making an incision in the skin just under the chin or inside your mouth. The incision is stitched or taped.

You will experience some discomfort after the procedure, and likely some difficulty with smiling and talking for a day or two. You will need to follow care instructions for dental hygiene, eating, and other restrictions. Complication from the procedure can include infection and the possibility that the implant moves. If this happens, a follow-up surgery may be required.
