Retirement Update 2025

Hi, I’m Dr. Greg Ratliff. Welcome to the Plastic Surgery Center of Tulsa’s web site.

As you may have heard, I recently retired “from the practice of plastic surgery,” at least on the surgery side. However, the Med Spa side of my practice, Inject Aesthetics and Wellness, is still going strong and it has taken over now the whole building instead of being crammed up into the second floor.

Hang in with me for a minute while I tell you about all the amazing things we’re doing with noninvasive and minimally invasive technology that can help you maintain or improve your appearance and in some cases, your overall health.

Maybe the first question to ask is, “Why a surgeon who has spent 30 plus years using surgical steel and stiches to change looks?  What do I have to offer in knowing about med spa services?” And the answer is that helping someone get to their appearance and health goals has always been more than just cut and stitch for me.

I injected my first filler in 1989. It was collagen derived from cowhide and it required allergy testing before you could even use it. So, literally all, and I mean all, of the fillers available now, I have watched develop through the years. I’ve used some, I’ve rejected others, while hopefully getting smarter at why some work and others don’t and why some are better in some applications and some in others,…and all these new and different uses for fillers.

I’ve been injecting BOTOX since 2005. I’ve used radio frequency or RF and lasers to modify and shrink tissue, including skin and fat, since the very first one, Thermage, came out in the late 1990s, and have kept upgrading these machines in the office as the technology improved. In other words, I have kept and maintained a full tool box of noninvasive technics and machines to work along side surgery to maximize the results.

So, I guess maybe a better question than why go to a med spa just because there is a plastic surgeon as the medical director is, “Why are you going to one with some other specialty overseeing the process that maybe hasn’t paid as much attention to aesthetics over their career?”
