What Types of Facial Procedures are There?

The area in plastic surgery that has seen the most change over the last 10, 15 years has been the face. What’s possible for rejuvenating a face, simply buffing up a face, making your face look refreshed, the possibilities are huge. And this is everything from simple stuff like using Retin A to kind a smooth out the surface and get rid of that fine Corinthian leather look, the little crinkly wrinkles, all the way up to face lifts.

And when people say facelift, there are literally 30 different ways to do a facelift that are currently in use. There are mini lifts, and maxi lifts, and foreheads and necks. All of that is customizable to what you need and what you’re looking for.

There’s fillers, and the fillers are…used to be we had a filler and we’d put it right here in this line, maybe put some in your lip. Now, there are fillers that actually pull volume into themselves. That we place right along the bone here and as they grow in volume over the first 24 or 36 hours, they can actually lift your face up, get rid of some of this line and pull your jowl up. These things last anywhere from 18 months to 2 years. Some of them are 6 months. Some of them are 12. In other words, there is almost an endless variety of what can be done to facial skin, facial tissue the muscle. You just have to come in and get a consultation with somebody who has access to all of those things.

Be very cautious of somebody who says, “Oh yeah, we do BOTOX on the side.” You need somebody that has all the tools in the toolbox, or you’re going to get an answer that may not be 100 percent correct, simply because they want you to stay there. They want you to do it with them.
